Saturday saw the Men's team make the epic trip to the Big Smoke to take on Purley Raptors under the City skyline.
A back and forth start to the game soon saw some good goals from Tom and Captain Max to take the lead. Pete was strong at the FO with the help of wings Gary and James to get possession but a few fumbled balls by the attack led to some last minute Raptor goals before halftime.
Hustle remained high in the second half and saw middies up and down the pitch working very hard to get the ball back in the Cheltenham half. Opportunities for Cheltenham weren't forthcoming and unfortunately Raptors took advantage (or their No22 did!) Defence tried their best to keep Raptors offense from finding the back of the net and forced some low angle, back handed shots which gut-wrenchingly still crossed the line.
Cheltenham heads sadly started to fall and couldn't quite lift them in time to answer back before the final whistle to a heartbreaking loss.
Every loss has a lesson and the Men will be heading back to training to consolidate everything they did well and work on the missing links.
